| Any one have the dates and times? Is it Saturday-Monday or Friday-Sunday? Any one else planning on going? Thanks |

Swapper's Day runs from Friday thru Monday. Hours are 9 - 5 (maybe 6) I've been going for the past six yeas or so. I ALWAYS find a GREAT deal or two. Three years ago I found a LIKE NEW SMLE No. 4 -- Paid a grand total $150 ! Last year I picked up a Walther P-1 -- 95% condition for $200. The trick is to LOOK for the bargins -- LOTS of stuff stuck back in corners and under the tables. Gotta spend a little time and LOOK ! ! If you plan on spending only a couple of hours there you'll come home empty-handed. Not always guns -- tools and other stuff too. My teenage son says it's better than Christmas in August. |
Agreed, talk to the vendors. Sometimes the deals are still in the truck or camper, or they've bought something they'll turn around and sell on the cheap. I scored 20 LE marked beretta 92 mags for $50 a few years back during "the ban". Seller didn't want to put them out, but offered them to me when he saw me carrying a 92 around. Of course, I was a bad, bad boy for buying them but now that's all come out in the wash hasn't it? |
Have you tried selling it on GunBroker yet ? You might get more $$ for it. |
I have not tried gun broker, if I don't sell it tomorrow (At the price I need to get for it), no skin off my back. It's easy to justify keeping it to the wife if I say "No one would pay what its worth". )

Had a pretty good time hangin out with Swingset and Glimmerman, managed to score a good hamburger and some various sundries to tie me over. The big winner was Swingset! I'll let him fill in the details. Not alot to choose from unless you were dead set on a Wingmaster or Mossy 500, prices seemed reasonable though. Afterward I took Glimmerman over to the shop and he scored and old Tokarev, then we headed over and took a Falcon 2000 for a spin around NYC, unfortunately my landing skills aren't too good and I spread it across the runway at Teeterboro airport Ah well, apparently a 230knot no-flap landing is a bit risky..... Louis Gossett woulda been pissed!cya ya'll on the 22nd cheers, Mike |

Well, here's the score... Nabbed a $90 Polish Mosin, very very clean except for a slightly rusted bore that I'm cleaning out. Got the LAW12 for $450...a gun I've been wanting for a long time. Scored 3 brandy new Black Dog Machine Ceiner mags for $65, which is a STEAL. Also, of course, got the 3-Subnet hats. I don't even think John Deere should get royalties from those anymore, they're clearly Alan's intellectual property. ![]() Thanks to Mike & Mike, my bird doggers, lenders of cash, and travelling companions! |
I've got 8 so far, not a problem with any of them. The first batch he sent me were early ones - dunno if yours were but the early ones had really weak springs. Before I even tried them I read online that he was replacing the early springs with more stout ones and I called him and got some new ones. Put them in before trying them out and they worked so I dunno if that would impact yours but it's worth mentioning. I do know, through my own incompetence, that they are NOT chemical resistant! I spilled some Ed's Red on them, and it ate right into the body of the mags....so I'd clean them with something mild. I too hate monkeying with new stuff to get it to work, but to be honest that's been the rap with Ceiner's wares for a long time. I had to file my old Ceiner metal mags because the front feed lips were too high...and they were so far apart they wouldn't even hold a shell in place. Ugh. |
Yeah, I got the new springs, but that didn't help. He told me to file the top down so both sides match. If you look at them now, one side extends further forward than the other. My Ciener mags work fine. Thanks for the heads-up about the chemical sensitivity, I'll try to remember that. Now back to our regularly scheduled thread... |

I'll have a 100Rd. Chicom drum too. Say Hi if you see me, and offer condolences if you see me off in the corner crying.
