| Does OSU have a pistol range that can handle handgun rounds???? Or just .22LR stuff? How big is it? |
| They have a range in the basement of ROTC that is pretty much for .22 only. THey have two lanes for regular pistol, but that is reserved for police use and maybe someone who has been involved in one of the clubs a while and even then it's pretty much police only. It's a decent range for .22, but that's about all you can shoot there. ROTC uses m16's with rubber (or something like that) bullets. |
| Yes, the range can handle pistol rounds. During my tenure at OSU, I probably put more rounds downrange on the "police side" of the range than their entire dept each year. Hell, I had keys to the place. If you are a student or faculty, join one of the clubs or talk to Coach Cherry or Coach Sweeney about shooting down there. |

I am taking the riflery class right now (just had our first class monday) and I was wondering the same thing. Mr. Cherry showed us the backstop and it did not look all that impressive thought I have never seen the backstop of an indoor range before. What kind of clubs are there anyways? I just got started into shooting and built my first AR and I need more trigger time! I am pretty upset I had to leave it at home but I guess .22lr will have to do for now |
