Set for the 14th&15th of July,2006 Place : Snodes mellon farm |
|
Forums are at bulletfest.net Link to the Snodes page for what ever its worth is www.bright.net/~snode/ Not a bad place but if we're shooting the same way as the last one there its like shooting from the side of a cliff. |
Medic, the camping part is GREAT! Even though my achy bones will hotel it again, Lorie and I will be cooking in the Hay Field again. Look for the 20 foot flagpole with the Xmas lights hanging on it, you can see it from most of the approaching roads. Camp Helldog is where the |
I agree, Blacks was nice because of the longer line and at least for me being able to park closer to the line. However I think the size also lent to things being a bit disorganized, Snodes seemed to run nicely, wonder if they may try to lengthen the line a bit this year? |

HOLY SNAP this looks like fun. And to boot its only about 35 minutes or so away from my house :) Are there any restrictions on who can come, how many are allowed to register, etc... Thanks, I am hoping to be able to go and bring my meager few semi-auto's with me. |
You mean I have to go all the way O-HI-O for a Helldog burger? WTF? ![]() Alright - I was getting hungry anyway.

How much will it cost to rent? |

The night before is a good idea if just to hang with the others. It is a basic field, all areas are the same other than the distance to the porta johns, first come first serve, some set up mini neighborhoods for sharing cooking gear and tables. Mud traction matters, but 4wd veh and tractors are available. The barn 100yds or so away has the food vendor. <edited for clarity HD40> A few years ago there was a bumper crop of refrigerators, then ranges the next year. This year fate has handed us 56 riding mowers, the usual mix of other appliances, and 8 cars on site. A 100yd zero is about right for picking knobs off stoves and hinges off microwaves. You can not park behind the line as a general rule, so a garden wagon is your buddy. It is sloped behind the line, so if it is wet at all it is not very driveable. And last year was a reminder to leave frames-only on the line at night so the possible storm does not blow the canopy away. |

Im glad I went. There were a few of us rugged campers that camped till sunday and saturday night was a great way to end the weekend fun. I didnt shoot alot but did get to shoot an MG42, bolt action .50 and another .50 that I had to shoot right handed( I've dubbed it "the old bastard") as well as one of Scotts G36's. Thanks for bringing a bunch of neat stuff guys. Well done once again Campybob
|
"The Old Bastard", huh? Well, you're not the first one to think that... from Wikipedia: -Nicknamed "Charlie the bastard" by Australian Forces (because of its heavy recoil compared to other, smaller-calibre rifles at the time). And what about shooting the 1919? I don't see that mentioned in your post. I guess a 200 round belt through a classic Browning design doesn't leave much of an impression on you, huh? Some people are hard to impress. Don't know what we would've done without your services to get our stuff to the line. Thanks!! Thanks to Campy and everyone involved for another great year!! |
Yes I forgot all about that! The old bastard killed some of the brain cells storing that information Actually I think thats the first FA 1919 Ive fired as well as being mounted like it was. I think I should invest in a flak jacket for bulletfest or when I go to a shoot with you two ![]() |

BF7 was indeed a great time. Thanks to CAMPYBOB and all those who volenteered thier time to make it happen. Brian, your 4 wheeler and trailer were a lifesaver. Hopefully next year we will have a few more members show from the Lost Bridge Gun Club and Millers. Judy would like to thank everyone also, she had a great time. I'll try and get some pix up this week. Either here or over on the BF site. |
