One: I don't live in CA.
Two: I need a tool for removing Bullet Buttons - particularly one that will not sheer or blunt if force is applied due to red loc-tite.
Three: Please help :)

Put a couple drops of acetone on the threads and I don't think you will need a special tool.

Loctite also makes a loctite removal chem.

OK so loctite says only heat, no chemicals will remove it.  Now I need a tool again.  More help please!

Try using a soldering iron; use the heated tip to apply direct heat to the center bolt...should burn up the Loctite without damage to anything.

Riflegear.com sells the BB wrench you need to remove the nut.  If it does not unscrew easily then someone used Loctite.  You will need to use heat to get it loose without breaking the tool.

I purchased a steel bullet button tool from Blitzkrieg Tactical in San Diego CA.....

So far I have removed 4 "Bullet Buttons" without heat and the tool worked like a champ.

The rifles I worked on were S&W AR's with Red Loctite used to secure the button.

I am far from an expert but I know more on the subject than I did a few short weeks ago.

You are welcome to give me a call at the shop during the week if you have any questions.
