I have a couple items up for sale. An HK MR556 and a Sar2 ak. I've had questions on both from California buyers about installing bullet buttons. Are these legal in California with the bullit button? Any other modifications needed? I'm not against selling to someone in California just want to be sure I'm following the law. I don't have any interest in getting myself or someone else in any trouble.
Thanks. |
| ...or this, The list of banned weapons is on the second page of the document. It doesn't look like your guns are listed, but I'm sure someone a whole lot smarter than I will be along shortly. |

I think I am good to go. The barrel was cut to 14.5 but has a phantom perm. attached. I'm assuming they use the same method for measuring as the Feds. You should be GTG for a Cali import. Easy way to let the buyer deal with the bullshit button: Remove mag release, and put it in a small envelope and mail it to them with a single stamp. Let the buyer get the button and install it; they still need the main release arm, and they can easily complete this project by themselves in 2 minutes flat. For $20. |
