How hard is it to get your CCW in Cali? I will be moving (orders to) 29 Palms in the summer. I have had a CCW since 1995 in N.C.
Thanks |

San Bernardino County is pretty much shall issue. You have to establish residency for 6 month (I believe) before you can apply. After that, you will have to drive down to the Sheriffs office in San Bernardino and pick up your application. Because of budget cuts, they are really backed up right now, so it may take 6 months or longer to get an interview. Check out www.calccw.org, as it has a shit load of info. If you register and list San Bernardino as you county, you will get access to a private San Bernardino County forum. PM me if you have any questions. |

29 Palms is in Riverside County.
Since you are moving to Riverside County, you have to apply with them. Also... San Bernardino County has a minimum one year residency requirement. So, you need to live in San Bernardino County for one year prior to applying for a permit. Otherwise, they'll reject your application. |

Quoted: If I have access to a cabin in San Bernardino County, what is required to establish residency, do I have to live there or are utility payments enough? I reside in Ventura County. I had my renewal class last month, and they said they were really cracking down on people doing that. You have to live there. They require a tax statement or a letter from your landlord, and will also knock on your neighbors door and ask them if you live where you say you do, and make sure you are not a fuck up. |
