I want to order a spikes blank lower for 85 but once it gets to a ffl dealer it's gna cost me another 125. What does everyone here do or what is the cheapest ffl you have been to in Cali?? I'm willing to drive anywhere in Cali since I travel around a lot and could easily make a stop. I posted this in the hometown forum but no sucess so far. I don't want to pay the extra $100 on top of the dros fee for "using their books"

I remember one thread on here, the poster had a local FFL dealer that charged $10.

The last gun i bout in california 7years ago they video  taped it. this was at Frank Tabors gun store
Frank is the old guy on myth  buster(TV show) who supplies there guns. Told me then he was going to move or retire.
I told my wife i wanted to bare my Ass at Kali. When we left the border. HAHA
The point is they charge for there paranoia about cali. dept. justice.

Your best bet is to move out of the communist state.  I have no clue what ffl's charge out there, but I'm sure it's a premium like everything else.  Normal around here is $25-50

Normal FFL charge around here is $20-$50 as well.  I don't know if I could live in a state like Cali.  That would be just horrible, mate!  I won't even move back to my homestate of Maryland because they won't even allow concealed carry!!!

Holy crap!!! I had no clue you pay $125 transfer fees in CA, that's absurd! Those gun shops should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of people like that.

I'm sure you hear it a lot but move out of the state. I thought NJ transfer fees of $45 were bad... I pay $15 for transfers in NC.

WOW, we have a local Houston dealer who only charges $10 for concealed carry license holders, we are blessed!

I have one in the San Diego area that will do it for $60.00 including DROS, if that helps.

Charges are the same in California as they are anywhere else, it's that gun shops rape you out in Cali.  I got a guy in Atascadero CA that will do it for $50 + $20 DROS and then $20 for each additional gun to cover DROS.  Pick up a couple lowers and it'll make it worthwhile.

My local dealer charges $20.  I do not live in a commie state, however.  GTFO Kalipornia.

I think Tanners Sport Center over in Jamison will do it for less. Say hey to Ray - my brother went to school with him.

American Arms and Ammo has a much smaller selection in Colmar.

I pay $20 or I get the fuck out and let the store owner know why.

If you're not buying the rifle there I would expect to pay more for the guy's time.

2695 miles is a long way to drive to buy a rifle though.

Why not just buy an OLL that a local dealer has in inventory?   You might actually save money over ordering one, with the shipping costs FFL fees, etc.

What Bill said. RifleGear in Costa Mesa has a ton of OLL for less than $100. OC Armory in Lake Forest has a ton of OLL for around the same price. Both places charge the normal $25 DROS fee and you're done. Well, I mean you still have to wait the 10 days...
