Hello all, I dont frequent the state forum much, but am a Californian (born and raised in Richmond).
I want to buy an Anvil Arms lower while I still have the chance but have a couple problems. 1. I do not know any FFL dealers in the bay area (let alone one I can trust) and 2. I am active duty USAF stationed on Okinawa and will not be in Richmond to take posession of the lower to put in the safe with the rest of my toys that is being watched over (and fingered) by my youngest brother. do you suggest any good FFL dealers (or are there any ARFCOMMERS) and is there a way to enable my father to pick up my lower? |
| The FFL is required to deliver the firearm to the buyer. Period. If you are the buyer, you MUST pick it up after the ten day frustration period. Give your dad the money, have him buy it, and then legally transfer it to you when you return, via a intrafamilial transfer form (no FFL needed). |

If you trust them enough I would get your Dad or Brother to buy the lower, then once your in the states they can just transfer the lower over to you. Any FFL should be able and set up to do this and they will still get their DROS fees and all that so getting the money on their end shouldnt be a problem.
The only other thing is make sure the lower is an Off List Lower OLL which Im sure it is and keep it CA legal. Which is explained thuroughly by just about anybody here or CA FFLs that are worth a dag. |

Thanks for the replies Fellas. I know all about the OLL and ways to circumvent the law.
I plan on getting an Anvil Arms lower, I have been quite impressed with their service and C/S. I am still debating between 5.56 with gas piston or .308 for my build... I know all the debates and differences in opinion, but being a Garand guy I like the Gas piston, and being military I have plenty of experience with a standard AR and want something different and *ME*. lol time to try and convince the old man to give me a hand. are you guys using bullet button mag release, the other mag release lock with the allen wrench, or just the monster man grip? any issues with LEO over them? how do you like them? |

Intrafamilia gift of a longarm (rifle/shotgun) does not require you to send in a form. Intrafamilia gift of handguns require the form to be sent in. |
