Anyone have a list of OL 308 lowers?  I Have been thinking of getting one and starting a build.  308 on an AR platform would be awsome.

How about a 6.8 Do ther run the same lower as 223/556 I have a mega gator upper and lower in 556, I love it.  Just thought it would be fun to build a heavier caliber.

Try again, see above post...

Plenty of options for a 308 AR build.

I'll vouch for the Fulton .308 lower, the only thing I dislike was the roll mark by a 5 year old, other wise it was nice, tight and well finished.

If you're going to order an upper from DPMS... don't hold your breath, they're on at least a 6 month back order... but the wait is worth it.

My .308 was completed about 2 weeks before I deployed, so I only shot 30 rounds through her, but she was perfect.

Parts list:  Fulton Stripped Lower, DPMS .308 LPK, RRA standard FCG, DPMS 308 stock, DPMS TAC-20 Upper, with picitinny gas block & railed handguards (you have to order it that way), removeable carry handle.

By March I'll have a Mil-Dot of some sort and the harris bi-pod & adapter are already waiting.

There are various systems out there.

- Knight's:  unsure if there are any off-list compatible lowers
- DPMS/Fulton+ POF(?) - these are non-Armalite compatible.
- Hesse:  crappy, DPMS compatible but some folks have mangled them
- Bushmaster BAR10/RRA:   Bushmaster rifle killed due to relaibility issues.
unsure if RRA successor is compatible.
- Armalite/Noveske/AeroPrecision/Aircraft Armament - yes, OLL Armalite-compatible.

I own a (reg'd AW) Armalite AR10 and love it.

I suggest that Armalite has had a helluva lot more experience & engineering skill acquired over the past 15+ years of making 308 rifles than the other new kids  so I think you should acquire an Armalite-compatible system with Armalite-style upper.

Also, Armalite is the only one supplying 308 uppers with chrome-lined barrels.  If you're doing a variety of shooting where you use milsurp you want the chromed barrel/chamber.

ColdWarShooters generally has Noveske and AeroPrecision lowers available.

Aircraft Armament (Los Gatos, CA)  occasionally makes small batches of these receivers on a semicustom basis.

so the armalite ar10 lower is ok or is a no no?  It is way cheaper than pof, fulton, noveske, If the armalite lower is ok, I think I would build off of that.  I was up in ther air between a 6.8 or 308.  although both rounds are fairly expensive to shoot, 308 is by far more commercial and you can even find surplus at times.  So I think i'm more leaning towards 308.

Armalite is a named "Assault Weapon".  If you didn't have one registered prior to the deadline and you aren't a non-Californian military member, they are illegal.

For AR-10 compatible lowers
762 SASS has Aero Precision
DDs Ranch has Noveske

Bill, the Hesse is an Armalite pattern. Mine works fine but I did have to do some "custom fitting" to make it work.

I just purchased a Aeroprecison from CWS.

I believe RRA is listed.

I wanted an Armalite or custom upper that was Armalite compatible. Options for those are limited in CA to Noveske and Aeroprecision.

These are Armalite compatible only.

Incorrect.  Accuracy Systems just built my 7mm-08 custom upper for my Fulton (DPMS compatabile).
