Yeah those threads have sort of been a bit rare here of lately with the bizarre news from the other states being front and center. I was collecting a list and found about two or three a month last year with most of them running 6 or more pages, and hundreds of hits per thread. These assholes get all their information about California from the news of the weird posted up but just a couple of idiots (some of them self-haters from this state). As an example when 6000 illegals march in Los Angeles it makes nation news with the news tripping over each other to cover it. When 14000 watch a military parade honoring vets - OFF HOLIDAY - in downtown Riverside with 100 floats no one notices. When 160,000 attend an air show in the Inland Empire nobody notices .... seems to be addenda driven don't 'ya think? Ever wonder why? |
What I have noticed, because most of these antburners have NO facts just follow the sheeple mantras of unbased gibberish. Be a lion one day, and pounce on him with fact after fact after fact until he gives up and apologizes... I did that once. took three days but I finally got him to admit he was just following what others say. TRUE our gun laws suck moose balls but there are other states worse than ours and no one picks on them. My brother who lived in CT said he would MUCH RATHER shoot at our ranges here than those in CT. NY has crappy laws but for some reason no one picks on NY as much as they do CA... Jealousy? I think that is a major part of it. I mean when they were digging out of 18" of snow this last winter, lets see, I went up to the mountains to play in the snow then came down the mountain checked out a shooting range (in a short sleeve shirt, thank you) with my beautiful California bride, had a BBQ too. Didnt have to dig our car out of a snow bank, didnt have to put on 5 layers of clothing either. |

I'd like to give coyote hunting a try. If someone wants a hunting buddy, please let me know. I don't know where to begin. Tried it in the desert a few nights, with some friends with a coyote 'rabbit' caller. But we couldn't get any to come to investigate the call, nor did we see any. What sucks is, that I see the coyotes all the time when I'm riding my street bike in the mountain roads. One of the few Coyote threads @ calguns.net www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=71253&highlight=coyote |
| I've thought about trying to call some next time I camp in the desert. Unfortunately I see more in town than any place else with the exception of Joshua Tree Nat. Mon. They don't seem to be very receptive to hunting there. (except for bagging some of the campers who feed the coyotes) |

I live on a cul-de sac dead end street, across the street is open space. The coyotes roam the hills. Aside from the occasional missing lap dog they don't bother with people very often. They do howl and yelp at night, I guess trying to lure dogs into the darkness to be preyed upon. The sound is creepy as heck, drives the dogs nuts too. If I only had a suppressor and a some sort of night vision optic and could legally shoot into the hills, boy could we have some fun! But besides being a nice area to live in, I'm also balls deep in Obama country.... Oh yeah the idea of digging the car out from under feet of snow every morning sounds oh so appealing. How can those people do it? Gun laws withstanding, our state is pretty awesome. Besides there's something exciting about living behind enemy lines. Fighting the good fight in Northern California. |

Found one in my driveway one night coming home from a late shift. A few days later I heard some of the Momma's screaming when he went down the street around the corner while the kids were walking to school. Found four legs and a tail of the right hand neighbors cat on my left hand neighbors lawn. Haven't seen or heard of any sightings lately. I'm thinking somebody got him in a trap. There is a semi-wild area and creek bed between the school a block away and some golf courses. So we have some den cover fairly close. |
