Marking it ".22LR" doesn't help you legally, it's the bullet button that'll keep this a non-AW. |
Not quite true. If an off-list rifle is a rimfire/22LR, it is not an assault weapon regardless of features. SB23 only bans "semiauto centerfire rifles..." An off-list AR in 22LR does not need a fixed mag, bullet button, etc. and can have all evil features. Make sure you adjust your features appropriately, though, if you put a non-22LR upper on it. If you have a 22LR conversion kit that uses a regular 223-bbl'd AR upper (inaccurate!!), that's still legit but it's awfully close to the wire. Bill Wiese San Jose CA |
