After 20 years of parking in the sun, I need a new month sticker for the license plate because the old one is disintegrating before my eyes, and wouldn't you know it, you can send in a form for almost everything (including replacement registration stickers), but you have to show up in person to get the month sticker.

Bastards.

Your fault... dont park in the sun!!! Besides... this is California!!! You have to change your vehicle every 2 years or 20,000 miles... WHAT is wrong with you???

Well, if it makes you feel any better, you have my sympathy that you have to go to that hell hole.

They got me this month for $66 registration plus a test-only smog check (last one was test-only as well.)

They're trying to get everything older than 10 years off the road.

Bastards!

Last time I went there I had to wait for an hour and I had an appointment.

Screw it, I'll wait until the decal falls off.

Ouch. I thought my S4's $390 was bad. Still, I seem to recall it being near $500 last year.

If you're Active Duty Military, DMV gives a non-resident Military Registration that's around $65.

What if I'm resident active duty? (eg I am activated and spend a year in Ft Irwin?)

You gotta bring your freakin plate inside too to prove that it's really faded, they don't just hand them out. But you can get a new sticker from the information wench at the front desk.
