I was thinking of a place a little closer to me. I go to the range called "A PLACE TO SHOOT"  anyone else live in the 310-818?

G3,

Would you be interested in shooting at the Angeles Shooting Range, where the 210 Fwy and 118 Fwy's meet?

Here is the web site:

We shoot at Angeles Range as a group the 3rd Sunday of every month. It's not just .50's, bring out all your evil black rifles, handguns and shotguns.

I used to have an annual membership there, but then the fires came and the rain and it was too much trouble to get there. A lot fewer clowns at A Place to Shoot then at Angeles.

I'm always looking for people to shoot with.  A Place to Shoot actually looks like a nice place.  If we get a group together, perhaps we can switch off between the two. They're relatively close to each other.

I had plans to join The Burbank Rifle Club so I had a place to shoot when I am here but I really like the looks of  A Place to Shoot and the Angeles Range. I didn't have any idea there were other ranges that close. Thanks

There's also the Desert Marksman www.dmrpc.org which is private, use to be above the old Kentucky shooting range. You get in at the gate where Kentucky was and then drive back in. They allow you to camp out there, which is a good thing if you wanted to do an over nighter. We held a few 1000 yard matches there last year and will probably do the same again this year.

Hey 50,

Can anyone join you guys on the 3rd Sunday?  And, how would I find you guys?

Thanks

Everyone is welcome, we set up at the far end of the rifle range, just look for all the .50's.

I went to a place to shoot for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I liked it, they allow rapid fire (well no one gave me guff) The only thing I did not like was having to drive from the pistol range to the rifle range, and the rifle range needs more steel on it.

So it looks like a place to shoot is it. We can alternate if thats what people want. Angeles is such a joke. Anyway if you guys want I can gather emails and put togther a list of people so we can work out some dates in Feb. Email me if interested.

Do they even allow .50s there?  How about steel core ammo? Don't see any menton of it either way.
Only goes out to 400yds too.

ASR's got it's jokers, but it does go out to 600yds.

Are you shooting Brass projo's out of the M2HB/Sokolov picture?
1/25/2007 8:00:25 PM EDT
[#19]
yes... the Prince-Al projos.
ASR doesn't allow steel core ammo...so they're the next best thing...

After talking to Realwar we decided to combine our monthly shoots for Feb. seeing how they both are on the same date. So for those of you that want to come out we will be having a .50/1919 shoot at Lytle Creek on Feb.18th

See you there if you can make it out.

Looks very nice.

But I just looked at the address on Google Maps.  I suggest everyone gets a chance to shoot there while they can, as from the maps it looks like lots of suburban housing developments are coming close to the range.  Won't be long before the NIMBYs start whining to get the range shut down.

It will be a long while before they get closed (a place to shoot) because of housing.I live about 10-15 min. from there. A place to shoot is a great range and you dont get as much riff raff there. Angles is a nice facility but I cant deal with the IDIOTS that come there to shoot and there is alot of them. I'd be up for a shoot when I'm not working.

Keep in mind that the SBSD Range is just as close, across the freeway.
The sheriff range is closer to the homes and they use the range day and night.
I can hear them from my house but I cant hear any of the other ranges.

Lytle Creek is off the 15 Fwy at Sierra. If you're coming from the SGV, SFV, IE get off at Sierra go left and don't stop until the pavement ends. Where the pavement ends is Lytle Creek Range.
