So, I'm replacing the pistol grip with a U-15 stock on my AR so that I can have detachable Mag.  Can I put a Redi Mag on it to hold a second 10rd mag ?  What do you guys think ????    hinking.gif

Why not? In fact why not use two 30 round mags if you have them?

To further explain... This is a OLL that I want to keep legal so that I can use it at three gun match.  Wouldn't using 30rd mags be a bit of an issue in Kalifornia ?  My concern is that the second loaded 10rd mag in a Redi Mag would be considered a total of 20rds attached to the gun and would therefore exceed the low capasity law in this state.  It sounds a bit silly to me but then again...so do many of the other gun laws in the republic.

Magazine capacity has nothing to do with assault weapon laws in Cali. You maybe attach as many hi cap mags as you like to your OOL, but it's in the gun's ability to "accept a detachable magazine" that helps define it as an AW. Getting hi-caps is another issue entirely.

From what I understand, you can NOT attach a legally obtained "standard capacity" magazine to an OLL build.  Someone at Calguns asked if he could use his standard capacity magazines wiht a magazine lock kit and the answer came back as "no."

Look at BWEISE' answer.  He is VERY knowledgeable about the do's and don'ts regarding OLL configurations.

As long as your magazine in your REDI-MAG is a TEN ROUNDER, I pretty sure that you are okay!

Oh, damn!  Wait up!  You're running a U-15 stock!  Nevermind my post above.  If you have a "GRIPLESS" build and no AW features, i.e., collapsible stock, flash suppressor, then you can MOST certainly use STANDARD capacity magazines, i.e., 30 round magazines.  YOU ARE GOOD TO GO, my friend.

ETA:  As long as you have legally obtained standard capacity magazines, meaning you had them before the ban, I'm pretty damn sure that you can use them on your GRIPLESS build.  I've seen A BUNCH of people using their pre-ban magazines on GRIPLESS OLL builds.  And since you are running a U-15 stock, you fall into this category.

Thanks for your posts guys, but I'm not quite sure about the answer.  I don't have 30rd mags.  I want to use two 10rd, one in the well and one would be in a Redi Mag. :/]
