I just saw a Tsunami Warning on the weather channel. It included the entire west coast. I checked www.weather.com and found this:

I'm in Los Angeles and my 100-lb+ GSD has been practically in my lap all day. Very odd behaviour for him. I was expecting something to hit here, not the other end of the State. My grandma within 100mi of that epicenter and so far my folks can't get thru to her on the phone. |

is that rare?Look at the Magnitude. Yes, it's rare. And right on the heels of the Chile and Anzo-Borrega quakes, very worrisome. *precisely* Time to check your preps... I'm in Los Angeles and my 100-lb+ GSD has been practically in my lap all day. Very odd behaviour for him. I was expecting something to hit here, not the other end of the State. My grandma within 100mi of that epicenter and so far my folks can't get thru to her on the phone. *All good thoughts to your grandmother and any NoCal members. *Rayra, I'm in Lost Angeles too (San Fernando Valley). My critters have been acting normally, but...I DO pay attention to them and the wild creatures. I've been off work for 4 days, work on a 5th/top floor, and DON"T want to go to work tomorrow. OTOH...Surf's up! Gwen |

Depending on the strength of the building you should be ok. The danger is really getting caught between the people the people fleeing up the hills and the people rushing to the beach to watch. I expect that there will be more people trying to watch. If one was to happen , they would be heading down the coast instead of toward the coast and that should have dissipated it significantly especially in So Cal as the wave "turned" round Point Concepcion and then around Palos Verdes and then Pt. Loma. The sea floor geography is not real conducive to bad tsunamis in most areas unless they are coming straight in. |
