Hey guys! I survived boot camp!!! Pretty cool eh? We'll, not really. Boot camp is tough. I'm at my A-school now. I'll be here for another 4 or 5 months at least. I will be in touch, but I won't be viisting any time soon I'm afraid. I'm stranded in IL for the moment. They don't allow any sort of weapons on the base either(for me, it's like trying to clean up after being addicted to crack). Anyhow, did anyone follow if that bill to appeal the AWB in CA passed? I think it was reviewed while I was in basic. Anyone hear from John(HITMAN) yet? I don't know how long Army boot is. Ok, got to go now. ttyl all, Rayn |

Paul, I'm going for Gunner's Mate (GM) for my rate. I have to go through ATT first (Apprentice Technical Training). It's an electronics course...basically, since our Navy is so high tech, anyone related to ordnance (Gunner's Mate, Torpedoman, Mineman, etc) and anyone in rates related to aviation technology/electronics need electronics training, so the navy standardized all of the electronics training and they run all of us through it before going to our A-school. I'm still in the Great Lakes area where my A-school is. I'm less than 2 miles from boot camp. Because this base is so closely related and working with boot camp, The rules don't change much. I'm out off basic, but I'm still not allowed to drink (Yes, I'm over 21). We still have room and personnel inspections and stuff. We do get freedom on the weekends to go off base, but still no drinking and we have to stay in uniform. It will change when I've been here longer, but it's still a lot of rules. I know it's so that we proove we are self motivated and blah blah blah, but it still sucks. It is nice that I'm no longer chewed out by the RDCs though, we are treated with some respect for having completed basic. Rayn |

Paul, My apologies for assuming you knew nothing of the A-school situation with ATT and all that. Before I left for boot camp, I knew nothing of rank and recognition. I assume from your avatar that you are a retired master cheif. I'm sure you know what is going on in TSC and don't need me to explain it all :P Raynman |
