 I've had my I still want to add a heated 350 gallon aerated above ground water storage unit (spa) and I'd really love an underground shelter but I don't think the "Honey, what are you doing?" "Digging" "What's ya' digging such a big and deep hole for?" "An underground shelter complete with bed, toilet, aux power, cooking capability, fire ports, with solar power .... " "Just fill that hole back in now" |

I bet 80% of California would think you were crazy for going through such extremes, but in all honesty, I am deeply impressed. Can't wait to start setting up my house like that. Not sure if the (future) wife would let me go that far, but I sure will push for it. Now I just need to figure out the quickest way to you in an emergency  (you're only like a 15 minute drive away!)

And then comes the day of the big quake and 80% of California wishes they were best friends with Paul. My preparedness consists of about 3days in MRE food and the fastest route to my parents ranch mapped out.  Need that damn degree so I can start making enough money to start buying.

Yeah I have that plan too. Too bad for me the fastest route to my parents ranch is stepping off the front porch and that "degree" doesn't mean much on a ranch so I never got it.  Then again, that is why I am going to school this fall to become a craftsman. |
