hey everyone, i was reading one of my usual tech websites when i saw a link about the new smart gun.... www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2004-11/njio-nsg110404.php interesting.... |
|
Right after the cops and the military accept them in mass (and hell freezes over) I'll get one. They can't get this technology to keep 12 year old kids out of a computer, nor put it into cars to keep them from getting ripped off and I'm suppose to let them install it in my home defense gun. Sorry, not on my watch. |
|
That NJ law requiring all guns to have that technology within a set time period is ridiculous. It sounds even more absurd than california laws. One more reason to not move to the armpit of the US. But the Metal storm guns they were talking about are pretty cool. In excess of 1,000,000 rounds/sec rate of fire, from what I remember. |
Wow that is funny! Yeah those Metal Storm guns sound bad ass MetalStorm.com Old WIREDarticle on Metal Storm Cheers |
looks like a waste of our Fucking tax dollars........electronic this.....electronic that...........................on a gun= ....Electro's works in paintball equipment, but even the most costly paintball marker will still have trouble because of electronics..... The people who say that this kind of technology needs to work in modern day firearms is out of their minds.....watching too much science fiction. I can understand electronic ignition(e-tronix-remington) but for a computer chip to work flawlessly---it's .........how much trouble does todays computers still have....with all the viruses/glitches etc......and BILL Gates/ Sony still haven't come up with the total solution to all the problems yet????I know that they got the idean from ROBO COP....CAN'T REMEMBER WHICH PART BUT THE PART WHERE THE GUY COULDN'T USE ROBO'S GUN BECAUSE IT WASN'T ROBO'S HANDS |

I can hear two news reports now: "Today, the United States of America had to surrender California after a sudden rain storm shorted out the circuits on all available electronic guns. The 'dead' SmartGuns gave little resistance as obsidian knife weilding Indians reclaimed what they called 'the Holy Land of the Slot Machines and Vacation'." or "Along with the likeness of our greatest presidents, you can now see the phrases 'H4x0r5 rULe j0u!11!!', 'Billy was here', and several obscenities in both english and internet jargen on Mt Rushmore. The person behind it is a 13 year old boy from Minnesota. When asked why he did it the boy replied with 'I was just having fun, and I wasn't going to hurt anybody.' It all happened late yesterday when friends of the boy bet him he couldn't 'hack the army'. Repairs are estimated at $2Million and the United States' pride." |
