My son is buying a handgun from an associate. He has his G cert from the state via a security training company he trained with.

What are the hoops necessary for him to jump thru to possess the handgun legally?

No FFL involved. Just person to person.

Thanks.

He has completed his Florida carry paperwork.

As long as he isn't a felon, a private sale is still ok.  Class G doesn't really matter with this.  Now any company he may work for may have rules on duty weapons.  He may want to draft up an informal "bill of sale" for a record of the transaction, but it isn't required.

Yup, pretty much that ^.  If the gun isn't stolen and the buyer is a FL resident over 18 and not a felon then he should be GTG.
