I'm taking the family to St. Augustine on Saturday for a day trip.
Any recommended sites and dining would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Quoted: Fort Fort matanzass not Castillo de San Marco. Its a lil south . But worth it. Free. I like the little Irish pub behind the Columbian. The pizza joint that you walk through to get to the Italian place off st George ain't bad. But we always settle on that Irish place. Small..not loud at lunch...decent food and beer. Not my main hang out so I'm sorry the options are small on my reply. |

2nd'd. BYOB if you want an adult beverage. The our lady of la leche shrine is a peaceful, often overlooked, place to visit. |

Go early. Gets crowded fast. It's cash-only. Might want to be prepared. |

All the above plus: It's sounds campy but you'll be pleasantly surprised and the kids won't be bored. Wife & I spent a couple hours there going thru the exhibits and reading the history. The Columbia House is a good place to eat. There's a little place called the Wildflower Cafe They only do breakfast & lunch, small mom & pop place. The best seafood chowder you'll ever taste. When we go, I take some plastic containers and buy all they are willing to sell me, which usually isn't much. I've asked for a gallon and do good just to get a quart. Saltwater Cowboys was really good but I've only been once. Not a big fan of Osteen's or any fried seafood in general. |
