Just remember, down here we don't care how you do it up north- don't ever utter that phrase.    Gun loving, freedom supporters are welcome but don't let any New Yawk libs follow you down here- there's already too many of them among our ranks.

If you're down here for a while you'll understand where he's coming from (although I think he might have been just giving you  a hard time).  There are so many libs from the NE that have moved here that our state has turned Blue, especially in S FL.

Well, no offense, but that red line is a bullshit strawman.  "OUR American RIGHTS" have nothing whatsoever to do with your original question.

Whether Medicfrost was serious or not, let me tell you this: Stereotypes exist, in most cases, for a reason.  New Yorkers (and other damned Yankees) who come down here because they "like it here" and then try to change things FAR, FAR outnumber those who come for sun and fun and leave their stupid politics behind.  Florida natives and long, long term (35+ years) have been burned many, many times at this point by those who move down here and then cast votes that have turned this state purple overall, with some good-sized areas that are completely and irrevocably blue.

So yeah, as a general statement, we have enough New Yorkers.  Occasional exceptions are available for those who understand the lay of the land and understand they're leaving their home state's socialist policies behind.

I am not a city person, but I have seen some in downtown Tampa. I am quite certain

that they have their territory claimed and might be hard to compete.

Food trucks seem to do well if they come up with a unique product.

Please do not take the Yankee thing too serious if you are a true conservative.

We have this Senator named Bill. He is a true piece of shit and got re-elected

by the liberals that voted for obama. Most of these liberals are from the NE

and there lies the issue we have with people from the NE.

If you decide to move down here go for it, but please do not bring

any liberalism with you.

We don't have Nick Tahou's, we can't brew micro's, we have no idea what a regular wing is () unless a franchise crafted it.  Food in FL is big box or authentic southern or latin.  We do those right often.  PIzza, a bagel, a wing, cheese steak, pastrami, hot dog, craft brew, corner bar, we may have 1/30 chances to get it right.  Fish on the other hand we have.  Lake Ontario only allows 1 serving a month so you cannot double for a transformer or anal thermometer - we got fish covered.

Once you get down here (and for NY'ers look on the west coast) ask around.  As an Albion/Fairport export I have some great food in Naples/Fort Myers.  Only I miss a good tomato and deer season (to hunt something bigger that a cat.........).

you being red is not the issue.  Its what follows you that's the issue.  So many Conservatives move here, just to be followed by their Liberal family and friends.  When I moved here from Communist IL, I told all the libs in my family I moved to the other worst state in the union, NJ.  Like idiots, they all moved to NJ to be close to me, and can't figure out why I never let them visit.  As for me being able to play nice with others, I play well enough with 48 other states.

Since your feelings are hurt from being told to stay out for being a NYer, while you're down here, don't brag about how great NY is, and how the Yankees are the greatest thing since sliced bread.  Nobody cares about NY.  If you're hoping to move here, become a Floridian.

Way to go!!!!!!!!! a hot dog question turns into political mayhem. Let see, Steve4gov is a gun lover(at least that what I think since he's a member here) Hard working, asking about coming here to work (will pay taxes, more that all the welfare recipients we currently have) Sound on the young side, trying to escape anarchy and this is the "love" we show him. Last I heard this is America and we can go and/or move where ever we want. Sorry If I offend anyone

OP, come down to Florida and don't worry about the Floridians, we Yankees have them out numbered by at least 10 to 1 in their own state.

This is a great post and deserves a huge +1.

The only people you might have offended are those who have a narrow mind and are dead set with their all-encompassing stereotypes. I understand the massive disdain for the liberals that move to Florida, but to lump everyone from up north into that category is just asinine.

Someday I will become a resident of FL since it's the greatest state in the union. If that pisses anyone off solely based on the fact that I'm from up north, well those folks can go ummm, yeah, rather not say it.
