Good morning rike.
I lurk here (and GD) daily but seldom post as I have two jobs already and time is something I always seem to be short on. I am the Membership Director of Martin County Sportsmens, if that's the range you're asking about. First let me say we are not a "Tactical" range or training facility. This seems to iritate a certain type of people who must "shoot as they train", are ceritified airsoft operaters or mall ningas. But we are what we are and it's a damn nice private range. We are almost done on a $50,000 upgrade to our steel pistol /pistol cal. carbine bay which will be unequalled in Florida. We're an outdoor range back to back with the sherrif's range off RT 714 by I-95. Our website is - www.mcsa.cc . Pictures are OLD. Many improvements since then. We are more of a handgun oriented range but do have a 100 yard rifle bay. No trap or skeet. You must be a member, and it's not the cheapest place, but worth it if you actually shoot much. Open seven days a week from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. One RO on duty, not over your shoulder but will enforce safety as we have industrial parks close by. Member managed, elected board runs it, NRA certified RO's and trainers and 800+/- really nice members. You're welcome to come out any time and take a tour of the place and get some more info. I myself do an RO tour on Saturday mornings and then generally stay and shoot til closing. If I can help in any way let me know. If you are looking for a more "tactical" oriented range let me suggest Okeechobee Shooting. They have more property, tactical bays, etc. However they are open to the public, have a tiered fee structure, and are a good bit further away. I like the place, but I "watch my back" while there. |

I would suggest a trip out there. I was thinking about joining because It is close to PSL where I live. After visiting I decided it was not what I was looking for. I am a competition shooter and need to "train like I shoot" It looks like a great place for new shooters to get used to report and recoil.
Okeechobee is better for what I do and is safe. They host 3-gun matches and IDPA matches. It is expensive to shoot there, I think the gallery range costs $30.00 to shoot at and it is static steel mostly with a few target stands. |

if you shoot mostly handguns go to the martin county place. their steel target range is the best in the state and well worth the money just for that alone.

MCSA This, I wish it were closer or I had a more fuel efficient vehicle. Shot there a couple times with a co-worker a while back. Friendly people there from my experience. I may or may not have met docslester before
