Also you do not need a permit to buy it, only to carry it. This is because Florida allows carry of a "common pocket knife" as a tool, but the auto is not a "common pocket knife."

I am not a lawyer.
But I recommend printing out THIS STATUTE if you plan on carrying a switchblade.

The language that will keep you out of jail is clear in 2(a)

The purchasing part may be a little difficult. For a civillian you have to find a distributor who is willing to break the federal Switchblade Act.

They seem to be all over the place at the Fort Lauderdale gun show.
Can't comment on the "quality" though.

I believe that only applies to purchasing across state lines.

Further .............. the state does not preempt local laws governing knives, check your local statutes.

There are plenty of places to buy an automatic knife in Florida.... Hell, any gunshow usually has at least a few people selling them.

These guys are in Jacksonville, have a great selection and are good to deal with.  I bought a Lone Wolf and a Benchmade through them.

They are a no go for carry in Miami-Dade county per local ordinance.  FYI.
