Hello!

The wife and I are heading to Jekyll Island, GA for a little trip soon.  We both have FL CCW's.  I've done some research and it looks like GA allows for open carry if you have a CCW from a reciprocating state like ours.  I'm not looking to completely open carry, more like have it outside the waistband but under a shirt or jacket if it's cool.  My question is anyne have LEO bad experiences with open carry in GA as a FL resident?  Just like to have something other than a pocket .380 for walking around some of the beach/remote trails and such.

Might be better to post this in the Ga. forums.

I was thinking that too but I was hoping for a FL resident's perspective.

Georgia allows open carry with a license.

You will probably not encounter any issue but keep in mind the island is a tourist area and someone not familiar with the local laws may freak out which may cause you some interaction with LEO even if legal.

Best resource on this subject for GA.

Thanks for the input.  I plan on not having it right out in the open.  If the weather is cool, it'll be covered by a jacket.
