| Last time I went, I was able to stock up on stripped Spikes receivers, I'm hoping to do the same next weekend. Anyone else going? |
| Went with my dad to the one back in March (I think). He bought a XD9 and I found a few smaller things. There was lots to look at and a few good deals to be found, but the crowd was ridiculous. I'll go again if he wants to, but the constant jockeying for position gets annoying. We did go early Saturday, is it less crowded Sunday? |
I'll be there. Especially since I didnt find shit at the Cocoa show this weekend. Picked up a box of 6.5x55 Swede and 7.92x57mm German production. Finger banged a bunch of stuff but bought nothing. There were several PMR 30 pistols (supposedly latest production ) of $525. Checked out the new Ruger Scout Rifle ($825), felt nice and compact but hate the flash hider. |

I was at the Cocoa Show today, bunch of old fogies selling ancient rifles and high priced cheapo guns. I did get some paper targets though, yay! Did you catch the BS from the one dealer stating that the govt. was shutting him down and he was selling everything at dealer cost?? Asked the prices on a few items, went home and searched the web and the "dealer prices" were the same and regular prices for the same item found on the web. I wonder how many people fell for that BS. $100 says he will be at the next Cocoa show with the same BS. |

Is it worth me driving up from Tampa? Is it better than the Sun Coast Gun Shows we get here? There should be a lot less old war memorabilia at the Orlando show compared to the the suncoast show. Finding "good deals" on stuff at gun shows seems rare. It's somethingto do, walk around look at stuff. I like to buy paper targets and ammo if someone has realistic prices. It's fun to fingerbang guns you're considering buying and then laugh at the dealers prices (shoot straight). |

Yeah, I made a comment to my buddy about that - "I wonder how many people are going to believe that guy". It saddens me that so many idiots sell at these gun shows, they have no business sense or people skills whatsoever |

Sometimes I find a can of powder or box of bullets or the odd part I'm willing to spring for. I bought full size sillouettes for .33 cents each last time. Mostly there to gawk. I did have an interesting conversation with a military arms dealer last time who educated me about carbines |

I went, left with a couple of black paint markers. Pretty tame show this time around. I decided to hold off on the lower receivers, though the guy at the back wall of bldg 2 had more than 4 crates of stripped Spikes reeceivers. I was hoping to pick up a nice Don Hume holster for my new HK, but they didn't show up this time around. I did consider gettingh some Thunderwear, but was afraid of chaffing.
Anyone else notice that they didn't have "strike anywhere" matches this time? After 20+ years of supposed upcoming ban on them, it must have finally happened. |
Heading over there tommorrow to sell my AR upper to finance a new middy upper from Spike's if anyone wants it, IM me. Also gionna get some small parts to finish my retro XM16E1 upper, mainly the trapdoor and the FA, plus see if I can get a rear sight bolt that is shorter, since the one I have has some side-to-side play that is simply unacceptable. Been to many of the shows and i agree with most here - same folks, same guns, you try to negotiate with them and they are as stubborn as a mule (same damn rifle on the same table, show after show and the guy still wants a ridiculous amount of $$$ for it and doesn;t want to lower the price. )
However, the beef jerky salesman always makes a killing. |

I only saw one jerky guy and he looke pretty slow. maybe the economy is catching up with even him finally. ![]() several guys selling AR uppers. what chu got ? I am looking for a 1:7 20" HBAR for varmints. everybody is selling 16" M4 profiles and SBR stuff now a days. |

I skipped the past 2-3 Orlando shows but attended this one.
Mostly the same. There were a few new dealers there that I didn't see before. The one lady wasn't there and I usually buy my targets from her. SS was the only ones carrying the FNX-9 and had a "Show Special" sign listing them for $575. When asked what is the best price and he said $575.
Hmmm, I have seen them list for around $500 on other web sites. Needless to say no sale was made. Picked up some miscellaneous supplies. |

Quoted: I am at the show now. Its just like every other Orlando show. Same people same guns. I was surprised the Pabco/Don Hume Leathergoods people weren't there. The usual older guy who ran the GA Arms tables wasn't there, either. Some guy and a couple of kids were running those tables that really weren't all that familiar with the GA Arms product line. There are a couple of vendors I visit first and clean out certain products, although it's been slim picking on 147JHP the last few shows. Occasionally, there are good private sales. There were more private sale tables this time and there were even some items in better than average shape, just nothing I was looking for. Of course, it wouldn't be the show without the BBQ; I had to have a pork sandwich before I left. Note to attendees: if you are bringing something to sell/trade, you might want to identify it on the outside of the case/bag/whatever. After the first hour or so, it's hard to tell who is selling and who just bought something. Don't get me wrong, I asked, but I'm sure I missed a lot. |
| Having never been to the Orlando show it was all new people and all new stuff. It went great for me sold a Kahr and bought some stuff. There was a smoking deal on a Glock 34 but I just couldn't pull the trigger. There was also a great Ruger 10-22 with a match trigger and a matte stainless barrel that I decided on unfortunately so did someone else right before I got back to the table. |

Nice lookin rifle, what kind of stock is that?
I try and deal and haggle a little bit but nobody ever takes to that nicely. If they do they drop their prices like $5... I'm in retail so I know how it is from both standpoints, but when you go to a Gun Show you are expecting to be getting deals and paying less than usual. I don't think these old timers and Assholes realize that. When I do find someone with good prices or they are a people person and chatty and nice I'll buy something, even if it's just a paper target etc. |
