I have a out of state CCW that is recognized by Florida. I am still a resident of this other state. Can I purchase a handgun in Florida using my out of state CCW?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding for a handgun is that you would have to have it shipped to an FFL in your state of residence. So the short answer is no you cannot just walk in and buy it.

You must have a FL issued ID to purchase a handgun and leave that day. If you in the military and have orders showing your stationed in FL you must show the orders when you pick up your weapon. Rifles are easy, as long as FL will recognize your state ID then your ok. You can always purchase here and have it shipped to a FFL in your town. Long story short, no FL ID, no pistol.

No.  State law allows you to carry; Federal law prohibits out-of-state handgun purchases.

The law is the same for everystate, it is a Federal law afterall.  You must show a valid drivers license or state Identification card to verify that you are a resident of that state when purchasing a handgun.

You must be a resident of the state in which you wish to purchase a handgun. However, you can have dual residence in this situation. If you have two houses in different states and live at each of them at different times (ie, snowbird, etc - part time residence) you are considered a resident of whichever of those states you are physically in at the time. I don't know if that applies to your situation though. If you are just visiting you would have to have it transfered to a dealer in your state of residence.
