How is it? I am going with me buddy and his in-laws for the week. We are leaving this Saturday.
I have never been. They've told me there is nothing to do except be on the beach. I like to wade fish so is wading the surf good right night? Thanks. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

I work right down the street and they are right about not much to do. As for wade fishing I don't have a clue. There are some piers in the area I believe that you can fish from. I know Newport Beach Pier was under construction and I'm assuming it's been completed. Someone else may know better though.
There are also some charter boats out of that area as well as Haulover Park which is right down the street. Other than that I don't know as I only work in the area. Not too far from Miami/South Beach area if your into that as well. |

I'm assuming you're going to be at Seaside, between Destin and Panama City. It's a high-end (very) resort/vacation area. Beautiful beaches, some shopping, but it's more of a playground for wealthy folks from somewhere else. Within the limits of Seaside, all of the homes are colorful/quaint beach homes. The whole area has been built up over the last few years. It was one of the few wild areas left on the northern gulf coast when I was growing up. My wife and I still go down there a couple of times a year just to get away. It will be very crowded for Memorial Day. There's a Bass-Pro down the road in Sandestin. Charter fishing out of Panama City and Destin. There's a tactical shop that sells on Gunbroker.com in Santa Rosa Beach. They told me several months ago that they were putting in a storefront but I don't know if that's been done yet.

Are you going to Seaside in North FL, just west of Panama City, or some other Seaside? Yep, that's the one. West of Panama City and east of Pensacola. I google mapped it to be 25 miles from Destin. Some of the places mentioned I will try to check out. I don't know about Bass Pro though as I have one 15 minutes away from me. Aww heck, I'll go they all can't be the same. Thanks a lot fellas. I have never been further east than Louisiana. So, I'm excited to see water that is not brown/ green like we have here in the Houston/ Galveston area. Appreciate it. And anyone has more let me know. I did think about going to Spikes Tactical but they're 6 hours away from where we will be staying so I don't think that will be happening. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Its a cool area I have spent a lot of time in Destin. Grayton Beach is also a good place to go and gets great reviews on the beaches (State Park)
Grayton is right down from Seaside –– a good breakfast place is Another Broken Egg but be prepared for a wait on the weekend. In Seaside itself alot of people like Bud and Alleys for lunch but it is pretty pricey for what you get for me. |

The Red Bar in Grayton Beach will be pretty happening on the weekend, pretty good food as well.
Wade fishing is so-so. Go early before all the swimmers screw up the bite. You should be able to catch some Macs and ladyfish, whiting. Starting in Pensacola and moving East and South, the panhandle has the worst inshore fishing but it gets better and better until you hit Valhala, Key West. |

Think it's called Seaside Village, but we all refer to it as Seaside. Will have to ask people in my office that live in this immediate area. I know a lady in our office who is buying a home and said she was looking in that area and referred to it as Seaside. *** Update - Sorry got confused. I was thinking Surfside lol |
