Hit a couple love bugs on Friday. Came to a point that it seemed to be raining black bugs and we had to pull over to clean the windshield.

Twice a year the little horned up bugs get into everything.  Made the mistake once of heading up to Okeechobee during this time and ended up with lovebug jeez all over me and my bike!!

Riding a motorycle almost everyday I haven't had to worry about feeding myself the last week or so. Just open wide while going down the road.

only bad thing is, they dry up your mouth real good. Gotta keep a camel back with you on the bike.

They are a real bitch to remove once they dry for a day, almost impossable
they also stink when you are washin them off. BTW do they still have the drive through
water hose to wash them off your windshield on the turnpike?

Yeah the rest stops on the turnpike still have the windshield water hose. Some tips to remove lovebugs on vehicles that worked for me are using baby oil or wd40 to soften them up then use a steamed or hot water towel to wipe/wash them off. Also I've used a piece of fabric softner after applying the baby oil/wd40 works great on getting those damn things off.

Simple Green, full strength really works well for removing them.

They are nowhere near as bad as they were back in 1975/76.............................thick black clouds of love bugs, you could not see where you were going

I coat my windshield with car polish. Zaino bros to be exact.
Makes cleaning them off a lot easier.

maybe not as bad....but i've noticed lately they're starting to make a comeback in force. before I'd notice a car here and there with a few bugs on'em down here in Miami.....now today alone I've seen like 5 that look like they had buckets'o'bug thrown on 'em

I use a razor blade on the windshield sprayed with bug and tar remover. On the body.
spray and let sit, then wipe, then repete.

These + water will wash them off.

Just wet a sheet and start wiping.

Didn't believe it until I saw it done in front of me.

Crap that's bad.

I'm driving up to Orlando and Apopka(spikes visit) is there anything I could put on the paint to protect it?(other then one of those black leather/plastic things)

I coated the windshield with rain-x, think that should help with removing the bugs.

Dryer sheets are the way to go...simple green also works pretty good.  The key is to not let them sit on the paint too long....little fuggers are toxic.

I was thinking the same thing. I grew up in FL in the 70s and I remember them being worse back then. As a kid, it seemed like you were literally driving thru huge clouds of them. I've been thinking for years that they don't seem as bad as they used to. Maybe it's just the way it seemd thru a kids eyes?

I was at the car wash the other day and one of the employees was complaining because he had to do something with the recycled water that stunk like hell from the bugs coming off the cars.

I gave him a nice tip for his troubles -"find a new job".

Kidding!!!! They do stink.

I live in Western Orange County and they're not to bad where I'm at. Not as bad as last year. I've noticed in years past they are bad in some areas and you can travel 5 or 6 miles away and they're will only be a handful. Two years ago I was in Kissimmee one afternoon and they were so bad you had to keep your mouth shut while walking around. If you opened your mouth for a second talking or anything you could end up with one or two for lunch.

Do the dryer sheets really work ?? WD 40 doesn't work for &*@#^ I have put WD40, oil etc pre bugs and never got it to work. I think we need peel offs like motocross. The best way I ever tried was to spray simple green on early in the morning when the dew was still on the truck, then wait a couple hours, then spray and wipe down and it still takes elbo grease. Maybe I just hit them faster than you

Maybe it is worse the farther south you go. Seems like most of the complaints are from Orland and south. I'm near Gainesville and haven't seen them really bad in years. They are out there, but nothing like the picture in the OP.

+ 1 for the dryer sheets & water. Works crazy good.  And you can use them in your tumbler media to clean it.

I have some bug remover spray its like a wax that softens them up.
