Hey I think I found a viable source for some storage basics. Please post opinion or knowledge regarding the origin of this product (i didnt remember to check on the bags, but I will next time.)
Anyhow what I saw for sale with rough memory on prices were like so. All of these bags were the big synthetic burlap type bags bulk rice comes in with ink stamps and labeling all over. Not sure if import marks or what i'll know more in the future if anyone cares to hear it. From what I remember I saw 25lb,50lb and 100lb bags of Red Beans(I think 67. per 100lb),Black Beans,Peas, Lentils(I really wanted that big ass bag of lentils), Split Peas, Cracked Corn, Lima Beans, Red Wheat (I think the Red Wheat was 16.00 per 100lbs) I dont know what good Red Wheat Looks like I need pictures of good examples. They had huge 50lb bags of Corn Meal, Flour, Black Eye Peas, GRITS, etc. Everything appeared to be in dry condition but by no means overdried. I looked for Couscous (cause you dont need heat to prepare it, just water), and didnt see any. But I bet its there. Caribbean Food Market - is the name of the place by the old Citrus Bowl. Leaves me to believe alot of this stuff is of Carribean origin. Looked good to me but I dont know much about this stuff. I like MREs
Caribbean Food Market 2121 W Washington St Orlando, FL 32805 The area its at is a warehouse type area. If anyone stops in , they have hot plate lunches with good food (oxtails, roasted pig, rice, beans) type stuff. Let me know what you think about the potential storage food situation there. BTW - I cant find any of those Mormon food supply places near me. |
