| Heard on Rush, that Vern Buchanan is on the fence, wouldn't hurt to drop him a line if he's your representative. |

cap and trade passed, and just barely. Elections do have consequences. This might well be the last nail in the coffin for America. The bill hasn't been passed, they took a "test vote" to see if the vote would pass if it went to the floor. A test vote is just a general non-committing poll of the Congress. It is still in debate. Hannity's intro monologue included that Vern Buchanan had gotten off the fence and was voting "No" If this passes, 2012 will be the beginning of the end. (thats when the legislation will begin) |

Quoted: Cap and trade....anyone wanna give me a general idea of what that is It means if you now pay 200 month for electric, it will now cost 400 month. gas or diesel will also drasticaly increase. gov't is going to tax you to force you not to use energy. And this applies for business too, same effect so plan on paying double for goods and services. Don't forget all manufacturing jobs will now be leaving the US. Fl reps sided with this bill. With South Fl economy 40 % or more with the marine industry, well now that's gone too. These fucks need to GTFO in 2010. read my sig line |

If it hadn't been for eight Republicans this pile of stink wouldn't have passed and a strong message would have been sent. These eight Republicans are scummier than the dems. Bono Mack (CA) (202) 225-5330 Castle (DE) (202) 225-4165 Kirk (IL) (202) 225-4385 (And he’s seriously considering running for Senate!) Lance (NJ) (202) 225-5361 LoBiondo (NJ) (202) 225-6572 McHugh (NY) (202) 225-4611 Reichert (WA) (202) 225-7761 Smith (NJ) (202) 225-3765 Be sure to let them know what you think of what they did. Waxman and Pelosi need to have this economy destroyer mentioned every single time their names are uttered. They need to own this turd for the rest of their lives. Pray the senate has some sense. |

There is still slight hope because it has to pass the Senate next. The word is that they have a tough row to hoe to get this to pass in the senate. I sure hope they are right and it dies. This shines a light on the Idiots that voted for it in the house. I hope this is apparent to their constituents and they lose their seats. |
| The catch phrases used by the Dems are renewable energy sources, lessen dependance on foriegn oil and more wind and solar. The Dept of Energy states that only about 1.6% of the electricity generated in this country is generated by the use of oil. So essentially no oil is used to generate electricity. Of all the oil used by this country, about half is used for transpotation and about half is used in the manufacturing process of items we use everyday such as fabrics, chemicals, etc. I fail to see why the Dems always associate oil with electrical generation. It's a red herring. We probably have enough coal in this country for the next 400 yrs. Let's work on burning it cleaner and learn to liquify it and the problem is solved. |

That is what part of this bill does. It will force coal burning plants to be retrofitted with VERY expensive CO2 capturing systems. These systems are also very experimental and not proven. If it passes it will surely cause our electricity rates to climb. They tout the creation of jobs. None of these green energy systems are free. These jobs will come with a huge price to be paid by the taxpayer and consumer. I sure hope the senate is not on the take like the house is. |

While you're probably right about the process of retrofitting, I suggest that a new plant could be built for less money. Even more basic is the question as to whether "Global Warming" is really an issue. There is no concensus either way. Even if global warming exists, is it manmade or is it Mother Nature doing her thing. The skeptics of global warming are up against a group of emotional naysayers who seem to alter facts to suit themselves. If you're interested, I think a good book on the subject is the Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming and Environmentalism by Christopher Horner. Thanks for your comments. |
