After nearly 60 years in Oregon, the liberal immigrants are starting to wear me down.
Our kids are grown, and the grandkids are in High School. Frankly, we are looking for a new place to live! I want to be warm in the winter, yet not roasted in the summer, and it's important to be secluded enough that I can pee off my back porch, if I wanted to! Waterfront is not all important, but the ability to be able shoot on the property, is! We are in search of a Class III friendly state, and where the mere mention of a firearm does not cause those about me to screech! I realize that Florida is (obviously) a very large state, and my assumptions are that it is similar to Oregon, in that different areas will (might) contain different "types" of folks. (No big cities or "tree huggers" for us.) We would want rural property that is remote and secluded, but within an hour (or so) of a small town. Hopefully, where the neighbors still wave and smile to one another. We're not wealthy by any means, but most certainly have sufficient income to subsist, and are looking for at least 5 or more acres. I know that this is vague, but any (civil) suggestions as to where to start our search will be welcome. |

I would suggest somewhere in the Northern part of the state on the gulf side. Look on a FL map for Gainesville and go west and north from there. On a FL county map, look at Gilchrist, Levy, Dixie, Suwannee,Taylor and the surrounding areas. You could probably find what your looking for somewhere in there. I recommend these areas because it's where I know and live. Some of the South FL guys could probably help you out with that area. Anyway, might be a good place to start your search. Many of us here hate to hear about more people moving in, but someone into class 3 guns that's running from the libs is ok with me |
