my dad left his gun in my moms house when he ran off with another woman. I know its legaly under his name but he don't live in my house I don't know where he is I haven't seen him in over 7years. Is it possible to put it under my name or even sell it ?

both he left and i aint seen him. its a smith and wesson 357 revolver i dont know much bout guns or even this one but that info.i just want it to be legaly mines. i wanna know if i can make it mines on paper work you know what i mean ? I don't think theres any paperwork, you might want to see if it shows up on the stolen gun list the state has on a web site, maybe someone can post a link to that site. Did your dad buy that pistol in Fl? |

so i can take it to a gun store and sell it ? or trade it ? even thought it aint mines ? Well, if you say it's not yours, then I guess the answer would be no, you should try to give it back to your dad. Nothing is worth breking the law over. I never break the law. |

Your dad should have left you a dictionary. And it's "MINE" not "MINES". What are you, five ?! Never thought I'd see the day a West Virginian corrects another persons grammar!
I'm allowed to say that because I'm from WV .Me too! Where were you from in WV? I grew up in Shinnston & West Milford

This is almost correct. The ownership is not dependent upon his leaving. In the State of Florida, married couples have equal ownership of everything either one of them owns/has owned since their wedding day.
If your Dad leaves and doesn't come back, then everything he owns belongs to your mother. If she says it's yours now, then it's yours. End of discussion! |
