Hi, have a questions, just got about 5,000 ronds of 5.56 (pack in boxes of 20 rds each)Federal and wanted to know what is the best way to storage it?? In the garage, or better inside an air conditioned room???

Thanks!!!!!

Boxed or loose,  climate controlled is optimum.

No need to do that.  Just stack them in the ammo cans.  Makes them easier to count and get at when you need them.  Only down side is that you can't pack as many rounds in the can.  Or place the rounds on stripper clips and pack them in like that.

Leave it in the original packaging and store it in the large ammo cans.  If you ever decide/need to sell it you'll get more cash for it if it's in the original boxes.

ETA:  If you end up with a bad round that damages your rifle you stand a better chance of getting the ammo manufacturer to pay for the damage if you have the original box with the lot number than you do if you have it piled loose in an ammo can.

Nah,

Those rounds are better off loaded in mags in a climate controlled room...

See...  Another better ARFCOM way to store things...

You'll be more prepared than ever before...

Don't listen to these other guys...

They just want to leach off of you because they are jealous...    Ut Oh........
