I live in Homestead and am looking for a place I can go to quite often to shoot.   I had been out to Henry's Range off of 217th and Mowry but from what I understand the EPA has shut him down.  My only option that I know of is Trail Glades Range and have not heard alot of great things about that place.  I've been told the wait time on weekends can be very long and they are very strict/picky.  I'm looking for something that has at least a 100y rifle range, longer would be better too.  I'm open to any sugestions.  Thanks

There is no LEGAL range South of Trail Glades.  There are places people go shoot but that does not make it legal.

Yeah, and thats just it, I want to stay LEGAL.  I was told by a City of Homestead police officer that there is a new range being worked on out near Turkey Pt.  But probably won't be ready for another 6-8 months.  hinking.gif

I'll post more info when I find out.  I see the guy about once a week or so, maybe he will be able to tell me who is running it.

Used by Turkey Point Security and rented by at least one Fed Agency.
We taught armed escort there a couple of months ago.
I cannot imagine private citizens being allowed to use it, but, I guess you could call the security office at Turkey Point .
Nuke plants are a bit of a grey area when it comes to ownership/jurisdiction.
BTW watch your speed on that entrance road. Mucho po po.

Stay safe

I think he is talking about another range and not Turkey Point.  I also have heard rumors about a range in the works in that area ...

Turkey Point is only available to .mil and LEO's.  They don't even let their own employees  shoot their anymore (there security still can for official training only).
