I know there are people who feel strongly about this but give me all the cons/pros of a 10.5 barrel verse a 7.5..... ive read tons of accounts of people who love their 7.5s and just as many who say they would never go below 10.5. so throw everything you can at me about the two! just a side note im already heavly leaning towards the 10,i just want all the facts/opinions about the subject.

The downsides I see in a 7" barrel: Concussion, very uncomfortable for people around you; With a 7" barrel you're not giving the projectile a whole lot of time to stabilize, to a point where most Suppressor manufacturers will void the warranty on a can when used on anything short of 11.5~10.5"; Can't say anything about accuracy, I'm sure Omi will shed some light on this as well, as I believe he has a 7" AR; The gas system on a 10.5" can be troublesome, with a tendency to short-stroke. I can only imagine how troublesome a 7" can be; But of course YMMV. I have a 10.5" and a 11.5" you are more than welcome to shoot. |

+1 on what Pu said. 7.5 and lower will be better for sub cals. I have a 7.5 in 9mm and loving it. 7.5 pros: Cool factor Big fireball loud (some people like it that way )cons: loud all the problems you get with it. required constant tweaking to get it right. not recommended by suppressor companies. sorry but I won't let my investment go down the drain for the coolness. |
