I'm new here and have recently thought about buying an AR15. I googled this site and it looks like some pretty good information here.

I've only shot a few rifles in my life, the AR15 will be something new for me.

Watch out for that BRD (black rifle disease), there is no known cure; however, somewhere between 3 and 50 AR15's does seem to keep in under control.

Welcome. The AR is a great all-around rifle: proven design; flat-shooting/accurate/low-recoil; modular; huge aftermarket selection. It's a rifle the whole family can love. Before I got my AR, we used to sit on the couch and watch TV...now we sit on the couch and watch the AR.

Yep... you don't know what you're getting yourself into. Some folks dress up their AR's fancier than their women, others like the old plain Janes. All of us have (or are going to have) more than one.

just make sure that you chain your AR securely when you're not using it. everyone knows that black rifles are evil and will sneak out and assault innocent women and children if left unattended...

I personally have never had that problem... But if I were you I WOULD chain your AR down at night...

Also... NEVER leave 2 ARs in a safe or gun cabinet unprotected... They Multiply in the dark!
