I've been to hundreds of ranges and Markham Park is the first one I've seen who sticks these little orange flags down your chamber to make sure that it's unloaded (and I thought rapid fire rules were funny as is).

The question I have, is don't these damn things melt inside of your chamber? I'll seriously make those fuckers pay if theres orange goo all over my chamber. Or is it designed not to melt?

If it helps, it says Century Arms on them

No rapid fire, so......

Your chamber won't reach the temperature necessary to melt the plastic empty chamber indicator.

Markham.......Ken Jenne......

No thanks!

The flags will not melt and they have been using them for about 8-9 months now. Some idiots will remove the mag and leave a round chambered, this was done to prevent that.

The SO may let you fire faster once they see that you can control your weapon. They don't want rounds flying over the berm due to the weapon not being controlled. I have fired 3-5 shot burst at 1 sec intervals and have had no problem. I fire, reacquire the target and fire again.

Empty Chamber Indicators are required stuff at high power
rifle matches. You shouldn't have any problems with them.
BSO only became interested in Markham Park procedures
after some bright star put a round through the window of their
classroom one evening. So keeping weapons pointed down range
doesn't seem too much to ask.

i hate going to markham. they use to be alright til they started that whole flag thing and you can only have 3 guns now when you go. i use to bring 5 or 6 guns and make a whole day out of it but now i cant even do that. no more back bench to rest your guns and ammo on, whoever shot out that window sucks.

I haven't been to Markham in a long time now.  The hassle of going there just isn't worth it.

The place blows big time, but it's the only option around other than driving farther or finding/joining a private club.

I could care less.  In less than a months time, I'll be moving to a place where I can shoot on my own proerty, and my neighbor shoots his MG regularly

It's incredible, reading all this garbage, with the whining and crying.
Where else in the area do you get to shoot in a relatively clean, safe environment, out to 100 yards?
If it weren't for the (3) numb-nuts that shot their guns in the wrong direction (hitting the building in two differnent areas, and the parking lot in another, and
miraculously didn't kill anybody), then nothing would have changed.
Keep in mind, that your safety out there on the range is not just the SO's responsibility, but your's as well!
When you see some idiot sweep the line, or load his gun on the rear bench (when they were still there),and you don't speak up, then you're to blame also.
What the hell is wrong with a highly visible orange, empty chamber indicator flag?
Gee, it's such a shame that you can only have 3 guns at each position!
So get up off your fat butt, and switch out your guns in your car.
I'd venture to say, that I shoot there more than most of you guys combined, and it doesn't seem to be such a great burden to me.
I realize how easy it is to criticize any place, but I don't see anybody here offering a better solution to the problem.
If you haven't figured this out yet, it's the county rep's that set all the rules there (with the help of the sherriff).
Yet it is the range staff (you know, the guy's you like to call the Range Nazi's !)
who have to put up with all of the nonsense from a few retarded people, and the bitching and moaning from others like you.
So instead of just trashing the only local place that permits you to shoot all of your "evil assault weapons", why don't you try promoting it and even help your own cause.
Happy Holidays.....

I don't know who you're getting your panties up in a bunch with but all I asked was if the chamber flags could melt and permanently damage my barrel.

And Markham Park can kiss my ass as well as most of us here regardless of the non-sense you're trying to explain to us.

I understand most of the rules but that one sucks. I sure as hell dont leave firearms unattended in my vehicle and I am sure many others are the same way.

Hell I hear people can pull guns on the staff there and get a pass by the local LE.

Do not go to Markham Park
It's too crowded.
They make you put plastic flags in your hot barrels
They force you to leave your arsenal at home and only bring 3 guns.
They took down the back benches.

Just say no to Markham Park
Thank you.

ps - I was out there today and had a great time, but I'd appreciate it if the rest of you would stay away so there's more room for me.

I like how most of the team members hate the place, but all the low post guys seem to love it.

Any one suspicious, yet
