My fiancee just took off for the Lee County EOC for a conference call. I really hate hurricanes. At least I don't work for FEMA anymore. I really hope this one doesn't make too much of an impact. I really enjoy having her around.

Looks a lot like Rita (stormadvisory.org/map/atlantic/?2005s18).  Which is good for us, bad for our friends in Texas.

Boys, the season is still young.

Those Texans claim to be tough.  Let them handle a few this year.

I get paid to follow after them, but it's salary, so the fewer the better.  Sitting down here in Coral Gables myself, waiting to see what will develop.  I did get to see the president (from a good distance), which was pretty cool.

You guys are gluttons.  I'd prefer not to have to deal with it.  My job requires that I report as soon as storm force winds subside and then handle the homefront as I am able.

Ah yes. Chris.

Last year, Wilma.

Nothing like spending quality time with the kids in the aftermath of a hurricane.

Ever since Charley, I just don't like these things anymore.  I can't say that I become afraid, but my anxiety level raises whenever there's one out there.

Ah, hell.... let it come. After what we've faced the past few years, a little piss-ant like Chris won't be much... unless of course he grows in strength, at which point he can just go beat somebody else up!

Wilma is how I met my fiancee. We were both deployed to Miami for Response and Recovery.
