Hey Guys,

I have finally decided that I want to build a 1911. I have seen that alot of you have built yourselfs AK's and so on. I want to know if anyone else here has built thier own 1911. Did you like the way it turned out? What was the degree of Difficulty? I have access to a full metal shop so I dont lack in the tool area just knowledge. Any help would be appreciated. Josh

Buy the Kuhnhausen books. The 1911 is a complex firearm compared to AK's, AR15's even a 1919 semi. Roderus Gunworks has some CD's & DVD's  on the subject too.
