I plan on taking the course at the gun show this weekend but was wondering if I have to pay $117 state fee then and there or if it was something I can take care of and send in like a week or two later? Anyone know?

You can wait. It check has to be a money order or the like. I sent mine in about a week after I took the class at the show.

No problem. I actually learned things in the class I took. It was worth the cost to have someone walk me through the paperwork. If the same group that gave my class gives yours, DO NOT get ahead of them while filling out your forms. Everyone in my class including lil ole me made mistakes.

I have request an application but it has not arrive yet.
So my question is, can previous experience waive the Concel Carry Course; for example prior military or law enforcement experience?

yes it can.  if you read the fine print it appears even a hunters safety course can qualify you

I finally got my application in the mail. When I called to check on the request I made via the Internet the clerk said that the Internet sometimes eats those requets....

Yes, after reading the material I see that there are several things that would sufice as the required training.

Thanks for the input.

My wife used her out of state hunter safety card and I uswd my DD-214.

The license fee goes with the application to the State. Not to the person presenting the class. Class fees are seperate.
