I committed to buying a beta-c mag posted on the EE for $425 in the early hours Friday morning. I tried to paypal the funds, but paypal wasn't working, and left the arrangement with the seller (Cat) that I would either paypal the funds over the weekend or send a USPS money order on Monday.
I got a message today this afternoon that said "I'm gonna have to sell this to someone else. I wanted to get this out the door as soon as possible. Sorry. Haven't heard from you in a while." That "while" was less than 36 hours and as I said, we had left it that I would either paypal him funds this weekend or send a money order on monday.
I responded that I was planning on paying him by paypal as soon as I walked in the door today (I had been traveling and he was aware of that), and I'm sorry he had to sell it to someone else so quick.
He responded that he hadn't sold it and was sorry I didn't want it anymore (?) I told him I would still take it.
Now he has it posted on the board for $50 more and sold it just as quickly apparently to someone else.
I guess he was sufficiently abashed not to try to ask me for more money after he realized that he could probably get a few extra bucks, but to jerk me around with some BS 'speedy sale' reason that isn't even reflected in his reposted ad is just a very dishonourable act.
Just an FYI should this guy try to sell you something. I hope his new buyer actually gets what he paid for.
