Same with my S5 TACTICAL receiver G36c build on HKP parts kit. First range trip it choked but when I properly oiled it it functioned perfectly and has eaten some dirty rounds. That G36c has turned into my favorite rifle. |

Have seen this mentioned in a few places now including by Tom B. on the G36 FB group recently, but it's interesting the overpressure flutes are no longer milled into the barrel extension on the G36C parts kits (you can see an example in HKP's assembly video). I checked w/ S5, and they said their complete rifles/pistols still have the flutes milled in, so it seems to be specific to the C barrels. I wonder if they were deemed unnecessary, or if the mfg is trying to increase reliability with lower pressure ammo by sealing up the chamber, or if it's purely cost-cutting, or a mix. |

Defgunz was supposed to release an aluminum receiver for the G36 by now. I've given up on that happening and just bought a plastic receiver from S5. Here is my G36Kish rifle. It has a 16" barrel. I already have a G36C SBR, so wanted to keep this one a bit longer. Attached File |

Sure. It's an S5 receiver with an HKParts parts kit with 16" barrel threaded 1/2x28. I also bought a seperate flash hider and the bayo lug and roll pin from HKParts. The flash hider is an A2 compatible flash hider I use with B&T cans with A2 mounts. The scope is an Arken x1-8 LVPO. The forearm is a K model and came with the parts kit. The rail is a B&T rail, I believe. It's aluminum and has no backup sights. Anything else? |

Does the bayo lug literally just roll-pin on to the bare barrel and hold just with friction, or does the barrel need a drillin' like an A2 FSB? I have the bayo lug, waiting on my S5 shipment (they are quick to take money but I'll be damned if I've heard a peep since). I have zero idea if my bayo lug will mount on this. No clue if the 4-prong FS will accept the Bayo, too. |

Shot mine today for the first time 100 rounds PMC 223 5 magpul mags No problems whatsoever, shot it kneeling braced to sight in and standing offhand for fun. Everything worked great, sights easy to adjust but needs tools. Shot OK, will be better once im used to it but no worries. Nice recoil impulse, fun gun, will try an optic next time. Its a keeper! |

Neeest member of the family.  This thing has been the bane of my wallet’s existence for the past few months. Couldn’t find a parts kit, so I went the individual parts route and boy, did I pay for it. Literally!  The only plus I can find is that I know for a fact that every part, minus the receiver, brace and a few screws, is original HK; no GSG-9 parts here. I even have a couple original HK magazines in the mix. I will ultimately drop paper and have it SBR’d. But I am so thankful that I’ve finished putting this German Money Pit together. Shiet! With the kind of money I spent putting this thing together, I could have bought a ful MR556A4.  |
