I mean there are a bunch of comments about the 416 being ditched. Even that one guy who claimed "stolen valor" on mrgunsngear guy said once the seals were ditched the 416. If I was a DEVGRU guy I would totally buy a nerf gun and make sure I get as much public pictures of me using it out there. Then watch everyone talk about how the seals are getting brand new nerf guns. |

I figured he was trying to mess with me and see if he could start a rumour, or he thought he was telling the truth but had no idea what he was talking about, or he did indeed have some super secret Glock ar prototype. |

I didn't know the Marshals had 416s because CBP certainly doesn't, not even BORTAC in El Paso. They're rocking the new BCM uppers |

SOF is always looking for and trying out the "next best thing". They have the budget for it. They also have just about whatever they want in their arms rooms and will go out on missions with whatever gun best suits whatever they're doing at the time. If anything though, the HK416 has only gotten more mainstream in military service; take the M27 or the success the 416 A5 has experienced in Europe. Arfcom just has an irrational hate for all things HK and piston ARs in general. Most here have never even seen a 416 in real life, much less have trigger time with one. They just parrot internet blabber they see that confirms their bias. The 416 isn't junk; DI guns from good manufacturers aren't junk either. It's all just silly.

Umm I have never seen a 11.5 A2 upper in USBP at least, even with the OFO guys. Everything I've seen have been the traditional 14.5 style uppers but those are being phased out for the new BCM uppers in 11.5/14.5 depending on what you do. But CBP is a big organization and I'm limited to USBP stuff, maybe AMO has some weird stuff for their helo guys |
