I have a navy pack converted to semi on my bobcat clone. With the stock pack and housing the gun cycles
absolutely fine no issues. When I installed the navy pack it will fire and function basically normal. However
when firing or manually cycling I can get it to occasionally "hang up" This causes a jam when firing. I am lost
The pack fits fine and everything looks like it is in good working order. Any ideas?

With some semi-auto packs there are no auto sear trips. With a full-auto pack there is an auto sear trip that the bolt carrier hits. I wonder if your bolt carrier isn't hitting the auto sear trip properly to allow it to fire again.

If it's converted to semi there should be no disconnect for the boltcarrier to trip.

I think you need to clarify "hang up" a little more. Is it stove piping or is the carrier getting stuck or ??? I know if the height the pack sits on the frame is too far either way the ejector will not be timed properly which can cause a jam. Have you tried the factory trigger pack in the new housing and vise versa?

If you forgot the trigger overtravel limiter during your conversion that might result in a 'hang up' with the hammer down on a live round (following).

Otherwise we need a lot more info and specifics on what a 'hang up' constitutes.

edit to add: My best description is the carrier is getting stuck

Ok sorry let me clarify a little. Lets say Im not firing the gun only manual cycling the action. If I pull back on the handle to
clear a round lets say. If I do this repeatedly I will get the carrier to basically snag or get stuck on something about halfway through the cycle
. I can pull harder and jiggle the handle to get it to cycle then it will cycle cleanly a couple times and get hung up again. When firing it will fire the entire mag sometimes and
others I will get a FTF or FTE. I actually will get both. And neither consistently. i will check the height of the pack in the housing vs the stock setup

Remove the recoil spring and leave the rear cap off but install the trigger pack back. Work the bolt back and forth with both your finger through the ejection port and with the charging handle. Since it doesn't have the problem with the original pack it probably isn't the charging handle but you never know. Without the back cap on you will be able to see in there as to what all is happening as the carrier comes back. If you can note the position of the carier when it gets stuck when the gun is all together, then put it in that position without the spring and see if the ejector is maybe hitting it at that point.

That actually reminds me to have you check your ejector spring and make sure it didn't get bound up or something in the trigger pack frame.

Hand cycling is not the same as actually firing the gun.

Big difference.

Shoot it.

He has already said during firing he gets FTF and FTE sometimes.

if it snags halfway on hand cycling/charging then that would make me think the pack sits to high and is binding.

Thanks for all the responses. I was pretty much assuming with all the advice that the pack was sitting to high. I milled down the
Four tabs in the housing and trimmed the shelf opening on the pack as well. My question is can the pack be still sitting high if the
Lever lines up fine. The pack now swings up the the receiver better and is cycling smoother but still not what I believe it should. My old standard
Pack still cycles much smoother and easier.

Bump. Any more ideas.
