I want to buy a surefire lighted forend for my MKE MP5 clone.  I've heard that they can be kind of loose so I was wondering what you guys think about them.  Are they worth the money?  I love the look and function of having a lighted forend and I don't want to add rails.  Thanks for the info!!

They are worth about $80, but sell for over $200 new.

Do you use a suppressor or do you plan to ever use one?  If so, pass on the Surefire fore-end unless you intend to buy the offset adapter.

I ended up going with a Surefire railed fore-end + Haley thorntail Vampire light at 1 oclock.

If not, going to use a can - the regular foreend light works great.

I bought one years ago with a built in light, I hope they make more powerful lights these days.

I ordered one of the used ones from HK parts.net.  I'll see if I can put my G2led end on it.  I don't have a suppressor for it currently and I'll use my regular forend on it when I do get a can.  Thanks guys!

Here is my Surefire rail setup that works with my Gemtech Raptor.

You can throw pretty much any light module in them.  I'm running an 800 lumen Cree module in mine right now.  Works fine.  The more powerful units do zap the puny batteries.

I don't find the handguards particularly comfortable to use.
