So i bought a Surefire 628 light for my MP5 clone from a member here. The forearm and light looks great, its used, so the lens is a little worn, but I expected that.

Anyhow, I was messing around with it, and realized that my Surefire Z2 LED Combatlight screws into the forearms, perfect fit, and its bright as can be...

My question is, would there be a problem using the Z2 on the 628 forearm? My only concern is that the Z2 uses 2 batteries, but when you screw it in the 628, you have to leave one battery in the forearm, making it a 3 battery setup....

I'm thinking its ok since its a parallel setup...
(of course I might also be an idiot and about to burn up my new forearm and light)

Are you sure it's a parallel setup?  If you're putting 3 batteries in series  [-  +] [-  +] [-  +]  you now have 9 volts not 6.

Two batteries in parallel looks like this

See, thats why I shouldnt be left alone with expensive things...

I cross posted this in GD (linky), and come to find out the LED "module" that is on my (Z2) light is rated for both 2 and 3 battery surefire lights.. so I should be good..

Got some good info on upgrading the original light, but if anyone have any additional info it would be appreciated to..
