As the title states: What is the value for a 100% matching Pre-ban FMP G3?? The only part that is not original is I put a wide forearm on it. It is the original green furniture. It is a green forearm, not a black painted green. |

A few problems/unknowns with your question:
1. FMP made receivers that were HK91 type. Probably not a G3 receiver. 2. Who built up the gun? Many FMP receivers were built up into guns by individual builders or well known makers. 3. What kind of parts kit was used? 4. What kind of barrel was used? 5. How well does it work? |

If it is a G3S or an XG3S, imported by Pars Int, and it is all matching, I'd say $1300-$1500 range based on the prices I've seen them advertised for lately.
If you are talking one of the G3 rifles that was imported by somebody else, than retro's question are important. FMP receivers came in several flavors with at least three different importers and who knows how many builders. If it is truly a pre-ban, it is a Pars import. ETA: and here is a perfect example: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=296627064 Nice Portuguese G3 receiver filled with crap century and POF parts. Not a pre-ban either. |

Not a pre-ban either Looking at the pic's, the rifle itself looks fairly nice. BUT, a nice coat of paint, can cover-up alot of crap. Look closely at the Pistol Grip, it is very strange looking. I had to look at my differet grips to make sure, but the grips on that rifle are wierd! None of mine have a seam down the back like that, and mine don't have that taper to the grips either. The Buttstock, IS NOT Military G3 Surplus, take a look: Where's the Sling Mount to? http://pics.gunbroker.com/GB/296627000/296627064/pix013574978.jpg What do you guy's think Has anyone ever tried to contact the sellers of these types of rifles, to set them straight as to what they really have? The rifle does look very, very nice, but like you said, a coat of paint go a long way. The buttstock is century, no doubt. I've got one in a junk box some place, it is a piece of crap. Cheap plastic, improper mounting to the steel cap, and the rear stock section goes on with self tapping screws. Handguard looks century, has no steel insert, and no heat shield. Grip is probably century too. Charging handle is century, its the Cetme type. Hammer and sear are probably century. Centuries hammer and sear were cast, and were pretty cheap. Back then the furniture, hammer, sear, charging handle, and mag floor plate were the common US made parts for compliance. Barrel though, is probably original FMP. But is it one of the virgin barrels that they imported, or a take off from a kit? If a take off, did they rotate it to get a clean hole? Was it drilled and reamed properly? It's those questions that are important to be answered on a rifle like this. Bolt carrier is Pakistani made I usually never try and talks somebody down. I did talk a guy on Gunbroker down once to over half off, but that particular item was up for over a year and I had good back up on why he was FOS on the price. On this particular rifle, with the guys asking price is high enough it wouldn't go anywhere. Too many suckers who will like the nice paint job. I wouldn't buy it without either lots more pictures showing what needed to be shown, or personally looking at it. |
| If it is marked "XG3S" it is one of the rifles that was caught in port after the import ban and has to have US parts to be compliant(Thank you George Bush Sr..). Thats why PARS marked these with an X in front of the G3S designation. Not as valuable as a standard G3S but still a nice factory built G3 clone. |
