Its a proprietary design, so only factory mags are available.

Hopefully Magpul will fill the gap in the future. Not sure if there is enough demand for it in the US.

I'm sure there is elsewhere.
Don't forget that they sold, IIRC, one million E-mags to the Brits.
Guess the Brits didn't want to pay HK prices.
They also make G36 mags, which there probably wasn't enough demand for in the US either.
I'd think SCAR mags would be a higher priority for them though.

It's not. The SCAR heavy and SR-25/M110 are the M-14/M-21 replacements. While there are a few at the schoolhouse, I doubt you'll be seeing them elsewhere.

My understanding is the reason Magpul developed the E-Mag for the G36 is because the Saudi's placed a VERY larger order of them with the option to buy more. So I would bet it safe that unless there's a similiar demand for HK417/MR762 mags, we won't be seeing a Magpul version any time soon.
