Ok here goes, in WA state at this time we can not own a SBR. So could I get the AT 94 with the 16" barrel cut down and have a suppressor permanently attached to give it the 16"OAL and
only have to submit one form?? for the suppressor.

If you have a permanently attached suppressor to bring the barrel to 16", then yes, you only need to do one form for the suppressor, as it will not be an SBR. However, I would get the pistol version (AT-94P) and chop and install the suppressor before you ever add the stock, otherwise you will have an SBR.

If in the future they pass the law I can send in the form 1 and SBR it later and have the silencer removable.

I would go over to the NFA section here, I remember seeing somewhere that it was not a good idea to perm. attach a suppressor. I don't know why but, I would research it before doing it.

In theory, if the laws ever changed, you could Form 1 the gun and cut the can off, but I would think that you would more than likely loose the suppressor in the process. In order to not be an SBR, the suppressor has to be permanently fixed to the barrel. In essence, making it an integrally suppressed weapon. I don't see how you could take the can off without either destroying it in the process, or making it so that you couldn't reuse it on the same weapon.

Why not just get the pistol, cut the barrel down to MP5 length, and use it with a sling and removable suppressor. I'm told you can get a semi-decent cheek weld with a sling. Plus, if you ever move, or the laws change, just have to submit the Form 1 and wait.

You may want to have a machine shop or someone with a lathe make a hollow "sleeve" that can be permanently attached to the barrel, and that the suppressor could go into the inner diameter of. This way the suppressor could be removed for cleaning and eliminate the biggest downfall. The sleeve would add weight of course, and look goofy unless done with serious thought. I have never seen this done on an MP5 style gun, but saw pics of it done on a MAC upper, using a a skeleton "cage" type of sleeve. I could see this being done with a small diameter suppressor, like a Raptor II or Tirant, and looking decent. I'd probably go with direct thread and not 3 lug attachment, so if it gets stuck or the coupler unscrews in there you won't have a major problem. It's way better to have a stock than a suppressor, IMHO, though this would be a way to get both and still be able to clean the can & barrel.
