There is so much confusion regarding this pistol that I am starting to get irritated. I have a chance to buy a 94P for $1,200, but the more I read, the more it seems everyone is confused. My understanding is that the reason this pistol has a 16" barrel is so that it can be fairly easily converted into a carbine. Just add the appropriate US parts to make it 922r compliant and you are good to go with putting a stock and forend on it.

Is this not the case? Has anyone bought one to make it a rifle instead of leaving it a pistol? I would like one and could really care less about adding a sear or even making an SBR out of it. I would like to make it a rifle and keep it a rifle.

Why is there so much confusion? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

It's not that hard to make it 922r compliant. The MKE rifles are an excellent choice.

There's a thread over on the hkpro.com forums in the clone section where someone converted their MKE AT94-P into a compliant carbine. He listed out the US parts and prices that were used to convert it over to a carbine.

Hope this helps

I bought the carbine because it was the only one I could get.  I changed out the lower housing, trigger, hammer, sear, buttstock and handguard, floor plates and followers just to be sure I was below the 10 foreign parts.  The gunsmith that changed out the parts then removed the pins in the mag-well. Guns runs 100% and looks oh so sweet.

Can't go wrong on one of these.

I bought the 94K and it was easy to SBR. I added the compliance parts, a three lug and a PDW stock. (once the form 1 was approved, of course)

For the pistol with the long barrel, just add the compliance parts (trigger, hammer, sear, fore end, stock, etc.) and you will be good to go. If you want to SBR it, just chop the barrel and thread it for a three lug adapter.
